Cazacu, Oana; Soare, Stefan; Kondo, Dsimédo On modeling the interaction between initial and damage-induced anisotropy in transversely isotropic solids. (English) Zbl 1153.74038 Math. Mech. Solids 12, No. 3, 305-318 (2007). Summary: Within the framework of irreversible thermodynamics, we propose a new general constitutive model for describing damage and its effect on the overall properties of transversely isotropic solids. We also demonstrate the ability of the model to describe the overall stress-strain response as well as the loss of symmetry resulting from the interaction between initial and damage-induced anisotropy in a brittle matrix composite.
