This book presents the life and the results of the work of the great Soviet Russian Mathematician A. N. Kolmogorov. The author was a student and, later, a coworker and close friend of Kolmogorov.

Gelfand, S. M. Nikolskiĭ, V. I. Arnold and many others); The main scientific results (in real function theory, measure and integration, probability theory, stochastic processes and statistics, dynamical systems, cybernetics and information theory); Kolmogorov’s work in mathematical education and teaching (in particular in the famous mathematicsl boarding school at the Moscow University).
