Determination of human skeletal muscle efficiency on the basis of motion dynamics analysis. (English. Russian original) Zbl 0841.92006

Phys.-Dokl. 39, No. 8, 579-580 (1994); translation from Dokl. Akad. Nauk 337, No. 4, 472-473 (1994).
The existing method of determining the efficiency of human skeletal muscles is known to have essential drawbacks: (1) suitability only for types of motion that admit simultaneous measurements of mechanical power and oxygen consumption by an organism, (2) large errors in the measurements of oxygen consumption, and (3) considerable difficulties connected with taking into account anaerobic metabolism.
The goal of this paper is to construct a mathematical model that would determine the efficiency of human skeletal muscles involved in definite motion by analyzing its dynamics.
