Baker, George A. jun. Solution of an inverse, elastic-wave scattering problem. (English) Zbl 0532.73030 J. Acoust. Soc. Am. 71, 785-789 (1982). The author describes a procedure to construct the scatterer from the scattering data in the special case of a spherically symmetrical, isotropic flaw of finite extend located in an isotropic homogeneous medium. His method consists in reducing the elastic-wave scattering problem to the radial-wave scattering problem of quantum mechanics and then use the known techniques for this later problem. This paper is a nice contribution to the field which has a broad range of applications.
