Authors’ summary: The stationary, spatially homogeneous, scattering kernel formulation of the nonlinear Boltzmann equation with nonconstant microscopic collision frequencies (nonmaxwellian case) is studied, in general, by an appropriate factorization of both scattering and removal laws. An explicit application is carried out, and the distortion factor, with respect to a maxwellian, of the spectrum so found is evaluated and plotted as a function of the ratio between scattering and removal effects.
