Misra, O. P.; Saxena, V. P.; Singh, Harendra Effects of the dynamics of parasite population growth and active immunity on the growth of infection: A model. (English) Zbl 0887.92027 Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. India, Sect. A 63, No. 2, 355-366 (1993). Summary: A mathematical model has been presented to study the growth of infection taking into account explicitly the dynamics of parasite population growth and defence mechanism of the immune system. The model is analysed by determining the equilibria and their stability. Particular emphasis has been placed on the influence of immunity and parasite dynamics on the growth of infection; and a stability condition has been obtained in order to determine the growth and existence of the disease.
