Jelaska, D.; Glodez, S.; Podrug, S. Closed form expresion for fatigue life prediction at combined HCF/LCF loading. (English) Zbl 1224.74106 Facta Univ., Ser. Mech. Autom. Control Robot. 3, No. 13, 635-646 (2003). The authors present a procedure for estimation of crack initiation and propagation in the conditions of high cycle fatigue (HCF) cycles of service loading and low cycle fatigue (LCF) cycles for start-up and shutdown. It is applied for life estimation of aircraft components - gas turbine and compressor discs and blades made of the titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V. A closed-form expression for estimation of the crack propagation life for the case of combined HCF/LCF loading is proposed, based on a simplified stress history consisting of one LCF stress block followed by one HCF stress block.
