Yang, Haitian; Gao, Qiang; Guo, Xinglin; Wu, Chengwei A new algorithm of time stepping in the nonlinear dynamic analysis. (English) Zbl 1002.74100 Commun. Numer. Methods Eng. 17, No. 9, 597-611 (2001). Summary: We present a time stepping scheme for solving nonlinear dynamic problems. By expanding variables in a discretized time interval, FEM-based recurrent formulae are derived leading to a self-adaptive algorithm for different time steps. There is no requirement of iteration for nonlinear solutions. Numerical validation shows satisfactory results.
