Propagation of disturbances in a thin infinite piezoelectric rod due to a randomly moving heat surface acting for a finite interval. (English) Zbl 0601.73112

This problem seeks to determine the mean deformation and temperature in an infinite piezoelectric rod due to randomly moving source of heat acting for a finite interval of time. The solution has been obtained using methods of operational calculus for small values of time and ultimately some of the results obtained have been illustrated graphically.
