Tokdemir, Turgut; Ertepinar, Aybar Stability and vibrations of compressible, hyperelastic, rectangular columns: A finite element analysis. (English) Zbl 0615.73091 Bull. Tech. Univ. Istanbul 39, 229-238 (1986). A finite elasticity analysis in conjunction with a finite element approach is used to investigate the stability of a rectangular column made of a compressible, hyperelastic material and subjected to an axial compressive force. Small vibrations of the column about the prestressed state are investigated also using the theory of small deformations superposed on large elastic deformations.
