Scholz, Erhard Hermann Graßmanns Analysis in Vektorräumen. (German) Zbl 0549.01006 Math. Semesterber. 31, 177-194 (1984). The author gives a synopsis and critique of Graßmann’s development of analysis in several real variables, showing how Graßmann attempted to retain the usual techniques and rules for working in one real (or complex) variable. Graßmann’s unrecognized difficulties are pointed out (incorrect use of complex-variable results in deriving Taylor series, implicit use of uniform convergence) and partially explained by Graßmann’s isolation from the mainstream of his time.
