Sequential methods in statistics. 3rd ed. (English) Zbl 0625.62064

Monographs on Statistics and Applied Probability. London - New York: Chapman and Hall. XI, 264 p.; £15.00 (1986).
[For a review of the first edition from 1966 see Zbl 0138.123.]
Substantial changes have been made in three Chapters. The material given in Chapter 7 has been changed, and the dependence of the decision - theoretical approach on dynamic programming is much clearer. Chapter 8 contains important recent work on sequential estimation and an expanded section on confidence intervals.
Chapter 12 on sequential allocation and selection problems has been considerably extended, and includes work on sequential resource allocation. A large number of new references have also been added. The bibliography is divided in two parts: General and Applications.
