Automatic remeshing in 3-D analysis of forming processes. (English) Zbl 0946.74061

From the introduction: We discuss an algorithm for automatic remeshing of the deformed workpiece geometry. A method is presented to construct a new mesh containing valid element shapes using results of the previous analysis as the input. The method is applied to modelling a complex three-dimensional problem encountered in the forging of a valve body.
