Sub-structure coupling for dynamic analysis. Application to complex simulation-based problems involving uncertainty. (English) Zbl 1457.93003

Lecture Notes in Applied and Computational Mechanics 89. Cham: Springer (ISBN 978-3-030-12818-0/hbk; 978-3-030-12821-0/pbk; 978-3-030-12819-7/ebook). xiii, 227 p. (2019).
In the present book, in order to investigate a class of complex and computationally expensive simulation-based problems governed by finite element models, the authors connect a model reduction technique with an efficient parametrization scheme. The class of problems under study includes many important applications in engineering areas, such as sensitivity analysis, reliability analysis, structural dynamic simulation, uncertainty quantification, and so on. Moreover, the ideas and techniques developed here will serve to stimulate further research in this dynamic field, and, in this way, the book will become a valuable reference for researchers, engineers, and students in the field of engineering, mechanics, and applied sciences.
