Mukherjee, Amiya The Jordan curve theorem. (English) Zbl 1350.30001 Math. Stud. 84, No. 3-4, 113-122 (2015). Summary: We outline a proof of the Jordan curve theorem which is an unpublished work of a British mathematician Graham Robert Allan (1936-2007), Reader in Functional Analysis and Vice-Master of Churchill College at Cambridge University, England. To the best of my knowledge, this is the simplest proof which uses only elementary point-set topology and complex analysis (see [A. Browder, Am. Math. Mon. 107, No. 5, 393–401 (2000; Zbl 1076.30500)]).
