Asymptotic behavior of the number of solutions for non-archimedean Diophantine approximations with restricted denominators. (English) Zbl 1168.11027

Es sei \(\mathbb{F}_q\) ein endlicher Körper mit \(q\) Elementen und \(\mathbb{F}_q((X^{-1}))\) der Körper der formalen Laurentreihen in einer Unbestimmten \(X\) über \(\mathbb{F}_q\), bewertet nach dem Grad, d.h. für \(\varphi\in\mathbb{F}_q((X^{-1}))\setminus\{0\}, \varphi=a_\ell X^\ell+a_{\ell-1}X^{\ell-1}+...\) mit \(a_\ell\in\mathbb{F}_q^\times\) werde \(|\varphi|:=q^{\deg \varphi}\) mit \(\deg \varphi:=\ell\) gesetzt. Für \(f\in\mathbb{L}:=\{\varphi\in\mathbb{F}_q((X^{-1})) | \deg \varphi<0\}\) untersuchen Verff. unter verschiedenen Voraussetzungen über die Approximationsfunktion \(\psi: \mathbb{F}_q[X]\to q^{-\mathbb{N}}\cup\{0\}\) die Anzahl der Lösungen \((P,Q)\in\mathbb{F}_q[X]^2\) der Ungleichung \(|Qf-P|<\psi(Q)\).
Ihr erstes Ergebnis bezieht sich auf \(\psi_1(Q):=|Q|^{-1}q^{-\ell_Q}\), wobei \(\ell_Q\in\mathbb{N}_0\) gilt, falls \(Q\) normiert und irreduzibel ist, andernfalls jedoch \(\ell_Q:=+\infty\). Und zwar ist in dieser Situation für fast alle \(f\in\mathbb{L}\) (im Sinn des Haarschen Maßes) die Anzahl der teilerfremden Lösungen \((P,Q)\) von \(|Qf-P|<\psi_1(Q)\) mit \(\deg Q\leq N\) gleich \(\Xi(N)+ \mathrm{O}(\Xi(N)^{1/2}\log^{(3/2)+\varepsilon}\Xi(N)),\, \varepsilon\in\mathbb{R}_+\) beliebig, mit \(\Xi(N):=\sum_{n=1}^N\sum_{Q:\,\, \deg Q=n}q^{-n-\ell_Q}\). Allgemeiner beschäftigt sich das zweite Ergebnis mit dem Fall, wo \(Q\) eine \(t\)-te Potenz eines normierten, irreduziblen \(Q_1\) ist (\(t\in\mathbb{N}\) fest), d.h. es wird für fast alle \(f\in\mathbb{L}\) die asymptotische Anzahl der teilerfremden Lösungen \((P,Q_1)\) von \(|Q_1^t f-P|<\psi_2(Q):=|Q_1|^{-1}q^{-\ell_{Q_1}}\) bestimmt. Das dritte Ergebnis verallgemeinert das zweite noch weiter.
