Corrigendum to “Enumerating permutation polynomials. I: Permutations with non-maximal degree”. (English) Zbl 1122.11084
In [Finite Fields Appl. 8, No. 4, 531–547 (2002; Zbl 1029.11068)], the authors gave the asymptotic number of permutation polynomials in $$\mathbb{F}_q[x]$$ having degree $$<q-2$$ and corresponding to permutations of a prescribed cycle type. The statement of Proposition 5.1 is not correct in the case of transpositions, three-cycles, and products of two transpositions.
In this paper, the revised version of Proposition 5.1 is given.
