Use of steepest descent for certain quadratic constraints. (English) Zbl 0932.65074
Summary: This paper deals with two aspects of constrained optimization which generalizes the result of J. W. Neuberger [Lect. Notes Math. 1032, 390-406 (1983; Zbl 0534.35002)]. The first aspect concerns the use of steepest descent to solve a linear inhomogeneous problem with a unique constraint. The second aspect concerns a linear inhomogeneous problem with a linear inhomogeneous constraint.
