Dhar, Ranajit; Sinha, D. K. Some aspects of stability in atmospheric dispersion problems. (English) Zbl 0762.76071 J. Math. Phys. Sci. 26, No. 1, 91-104 (1992). Summary: Consistency and stability of the atmospheric dispersion problems of advection-diffusion type are studied for three finite difference schemes, namely - explicit, implicit and explicit-implicit schemes. The advantages of one scheme over another are also considered from the standpoint of computational viability. Von Neumann method is followed here for analysis of stability of each scheme.
