Summary: The behavior of power series on the boundary of the disc of convergence is a very important issue in holomorphic extension. The power series with only finitely many distinct coefficients is significant for this situation. The theorem of Szegö is important result for power series. This paper discusses the history of this theorem on the basis of historical analysis and literature reviewing. It analyzes its background, the procedure and the development. Fatou’s conjecture is its thought origin.
