Lanzhou Univ., Nat. Sci. 44, No. 1, 71-76 (2008). Summary: The concept of attribute reduction based on the equality and contradiction degree of objects is defined in incomplete information systems. An adequate and necessary condition for existing reduction is pointed out. The theorem about reduction is presented and proved. The problem of losing useful information of systems due to the reduction based on consistent-distinguishable relation is resolved and the reduction provides a new method for searching knowledge in incomplete information systems.
