Exhausters and convexificators – new tools in nonsmooth analysis. (English) Zbl 1138.49301
Demyanov, V. (ed.) et al., Quasidifferentiability and related topics. Dedicated to Prof. Franco Giannessi on his 65th birthday and to Prof. Diethard Pallaschke on his 60th birthday. Dordrecht: Kluwer Academic Publishers (ISBN 0-7923-6284-5/hbk). Nonconvex Optim. Appl. 43, 85-137 (2000).
Recently, in nonsmooth analysis and nondifferentiable optimization, some new tools are used – upper and lower exhausters and convexificators – closely related to exhaustive families of approximations. The author gives a survey of some results related to these new tools.
