Jung, Eunok; Peskin, Charles S. Two-dimensional simulations of valveless pumping using the immersed boundary method. (English) Zbl 1065.76156 SIAM J. Sci. Comput. 23, No. 1, 19-45 (2001). Using immersed boundary method, the authors present a numerical study of two-dimensional fluid flow driven by valveless pumping. The fluid flows in a loop of tubing consisting of an almost-rigid part and of a flexible part being forced periodically in time. The paper contains some new finding important for biomedical and industrial applications. Reviewer: V. P.
