The purpose is the time domain simulation of the sound pressure radiated by a guitar. In the suggested model the sound board is coupled to an open air cavity, and the outer air is excited by a string by means of a bridge. The modeling of the complete three-dimensional sound field presents a new approach opposite to previous ones, where the cavity was taken into account as a simple oscillator. The authors use a spectral method for solving the Kirchhoff-Love’s dynamic plate model for orthotropic material, a fictitious domain method for solving the fluid-structure interaction, and a conservative scheme for time discretization.
