A posteriori error estimates for nonconforming finite element methods. (English) Zbl 1010.65044
A model Poisson problem in 2- and 3-D is treated with a nonconforming finite element method. Computable a posteriori error bounds are given. Moreover, an averaging estimator is established as well as an $$L^2$$ estimate. The a posteriori error estimates are reliable and efficient.
