CP violation. (English) Zbl 0998.81115
Cambridge Monographs on Particle Physics, Nuclear Physics, and Cosmology. 9. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press. xviii, 382 p. (2000).
The book is devoted to CP violation – the phenomenon observed in 1964 in neutral kaon decays. The book consists of four parts. The first one is devoted to the explanation of what the C, P, and T transformations are, what CP violation is and where it can be seen, and the introduction to the theory of CP violation. The second part is devoted to the more detailed explanation of CP violation theory – its connection to the CKM matrix and the $$K$$ and $$B$$ rare decays which are good tests of CP violation. There is also a section on probing the CPT violation. In the third part, the CP violation is discussed for models beyond the SM (e.g., SUSY), and an explanation on baryogenesis which is a result of CP violation is presented. The summary and perspectives are given in the fourth part.
