A new geometrical nonlinear laminated theory for large deformation analysis. (English) Zbl 0992.74025
Summary: We present a six-variable geometrical nonlinear shear deformation laminated theory in which normal stress and strain distribution can be calculated. By considering some effective factors that were neglected under the finite deformation condition, an improved von Kármán geometrical nonlinear deformation-strain relation is used for large deformation analysis. By analyzing the bending problem of laminated plates, and by comparing it with three-dimensional elasticity solutions and with five-variable simple higher-order shear deformation laminated Reddy theory, we can come to conclusion that the method is especially suitable for calculations under large deformations and for the analysis of laminated thick plates.
