Bauchau, Olivier A.; Bottasso, Carlo L. Contact conditions for cylindrical, prismatic, and screw joints in flexible multibody systems. (English) Zbl 0985.70003 Multibody Syst. Dyn. 5, No. 3, 251-278 (2001). The title problem is studied in the cases where the strains in elastic bodies are small. Specifically, the authors propose a sliding screw joint connecting finite element models of elastic bodies. The joints contain a flexible beam element which allows free relative rotation of the connecting bodies. Several applications are described.
