Direct numerical simulation of a puff and a slug in transitional cylindrical pipe flow. (English) Zbl 0979.76039
The authors present direct numerical simulation of puff and slug in transitional cylindrical pipe flows. The simulated data are compared with results available in the literature, and details of the velocity field inside the puff are illustrated by experiments.
