Monopole black hole skyrmions. (English) Zbl 0977.83052
In this paper the authors analyse black hole solutions with skyrmion hair and magnetic charge, providing the semiclassical framework within which to study monopole black hole catalysis of proton decay. The flux of Hawking radiation from these holes is less than that of ordinary holes and even vanishes in extremal cases. In the extremal case, when the mass for Abelian monopoles has the lower bound $$M=pm_{p1}$$, it is found that multiple black hole solutions are possible in which the gravitational, electromagnetic and strong forces between the monopoles are all in balance. In this case the authors used the Papapetrou Majumbar metrics and they write the Einstein equations and found a general solution with many similarities to the BPS monopole system. In the non-extremal case, the monopole black hole partially swallows the proton and transforms to a dyon black hole, leaving fractional electric charge and baryon numbers outside the horizon. The authors also obtained numerical skyrmion solutions in the non extremal case with gravitational backreaction.
