Manoj, T.; Ayyappan, M.; Krishnan, K. S.; Rao, Nageswara B. Nonlinear vibration analysis of thin laminated rectangular plates on elastic foundations. (English) Zbl 0964.74028 ZAMM, Z. Angew. Math. Mech. 80, No. 3, 183-192 (2000). Summary: Studies are made on elastic behaviour of laminated rectangular thin plates with nonlinear vibration. We examine the effects of foundation parameters, material parameters, edge conditions and the aspect ratio of the plate. In all the cases considered, the nonlinear frequency increases with the amplitude, and a hardening type of nonlinearity is noted. The influence of in-plane boundary conditions (movable and immovable edges) on nonlinear frequency is significant. We also demonstrate that the nonlinear frequency for any specified amplitude increases with elastic foundation parameters.
