Jeremić, B.; Runesson, K.; Sture, S. A model for elastic-plastic pressure sensitive materials subjected to large deformations. (English) Zbl 0949.74013 Int. J. Solids Struct. 36, No. 31-32, 4901-4918 (1999). The paper deals with pressure sensitive materials, the so-called B-models for granular materials. The non-associative flow rule as well as the yield function are dependent on three invariants of Kirchhoff stress and on a set of scalar “hardening parameters” expressed through scalar internal variables. The material hardens isotropically, and various applications of the B-model are presented in details. An analytical form of the yield surface, which is identical to the failure surface, is given for a cohesionless granular material. The non-associativity is restricted to the volumetric response. The hardening functions and the isotropic consolidation pressure are functions of two scalar internal variables, described by the appropriate hardening-softening rules. Some computational results are used to compare test results and numerical predictions of the model.
