The authors consider a new form of the algebraic Riccati matrix equation for the static output feedback stabilization problem for a finite dimensional linear system \[ \dot x = Ax + Bu,\quad y = Cx. \] An iterative algorithm is proposed for solving this equation. The method is reinterpreted in the framework of linear \(H_\infty\) control.
