Stability estimate optimization in dynamical systems. (English) Zbl 0935.93051
The paper deals with the problem of constructing a quadratic Lyapunov function for a given linear stationary system that is optimal for a transitional process (the transients), i.e., provides a minimal estimate for overcontrol. Necessary as well as sufficient conditions for this optimality are obtained.
