Public-key cryptosystems based on composite degree residuosity classes. (English) Zbl 0933.94027
Stern, Jacques (ed.), Advances in cryptology - EUROCRYPT ’99. 17th annual Eurocrypt conference, international conference on The theory and application of cryptographic techniques, Prague, Czech Republic, May 2–6, 1999. Proceedings. Berlin: Springer. Lect. Notes Comput. Sci. 1592, 223-238 (1999).
Summary: The author investigates a novel computational, problem, namely the composite residuosity class problem, and its applications to public-key cryptography. He proposes a new trapdoor mechanism and derives from this technique three encryption schemes: a trapdoor permutation and two homomorphic probabilistic encryption schemes computationally comparable to RSA. The cryptosystems, based on usual modular arithmetics, are provably secure under appropriate assumptions in the standard model.
