The exact value of \(\det V_n^- (x_1,\dots,x_n)\) and its applications. (English) Zbl 0928.15002
This paper presents an exact formula for a generalization of the Vandermonde matrix, in which \(n\) powers are replaced by products of degree \(n\) with \([n/2]\) complex conjugates. A characterization of Chebychev systems is obtained as a consequence.
