A finite difference method for the numerical solution of fourth-order differential equations with engineering applications. (English) Zbl 0918.73318
Summary: We develop a finite difference scheme with minimal phase-lag for numerical solution of fourth-order differential equations with engineering applications. Numerical and theoretical results show that this approach is more efficient compared with previously derived methods.
