A factorization of the Conway polynomial. (English) Zbl 0918.57001
The author shows that the Conway polynomial of a link is a product of two factors, the first of which is the Conway polynomial of an associated knot and the second factor is determined by the $$\widetilde\mu$$-invariants of the link.
