Investigation of the particle deposition in filters by lattice-Boltzmann approach. (English) Zbl 0913.76093
Summary: The simulation of gas-particle flow through filters requires the computation of transport and deposition of a particle phase over complex geometries. We show that the lattice BGK concept in combination with a new boundary-fitting procedure enables an accurate calculation of the gas flow around obstacles and in porous layers, and the particle phase in the case of predominated diffusional deposition.
