Summary: We present a model of cusped catastrophe for nonlinear dynamic buckling of a symmetrically laminated cylindrically orthotropic shallow spherical shell. The shell is subjected to an axisymmetrical load. Effects of transverse shear are taken into account. We discuss the effects of the shear modulus, geometry and material parameters on the nonlinear dynamic buckling.
