Acceleration waves in finitely deformed elastic-plastic solids. (English) Zbl 0842.73026
The paper reexamines the conditions for propagation of acceleration waves in elastic-plastic materials, within the context of the constitutive theory by the authors and Eve. This theory incorporates a generalized form of the classical normality law, but is applicable to nonsmooth yield surfaces. The theory is modified for yield surfces with vertices.
