In dynamical systems, it is often the case that topological information can be used to study qualitative properties of the system. This paper deals with the problem of determining the set of periods of a torus map. Using the Nielsen fixed point theory, a complete description of these minimal sets of periods for the 2-torus maps are provided. A number of results on higher dimensional torus are also proved. For the entire collection see [Zbl 0780.00035].
