A first course in chaotic dynamical systems. Theory and experiment. (English) Zbl 0768.58001
Studies in Nonlinearity. Reading, MA: Addison-Wesley. xi, 302 p. (1992).
This book is an undergraduate text in chaotic dynamical systems for high school students and teachers. The course includes such modern topics as orbits, fixed and periodic points, bifurcations, symbolic dynamics, chaos, Newton’s method, fractals, the Julia set, the Mandelbrot set.
Computer experiments illustrate the main presented results. Bibliographical data of the leading researches in the field of dynamical systems are also included.
