The author defines in this article quantitative and qualitative models of solid and fluid phenomena by means of classical molecular interaction type formulas. The resulting dynamical equations are large systems of nonlinear, second order, ordinary differential equations. These are solved quickly and efficiently on a CRAY X-MP/24 supercomputer. Examples concerning crack and fracture development, cavity flow, biological self reorganization, porous flow and turbulent combustion are illustrated.
