Li, X.; Baird, C. R. A self-tuning decoupling controller for a class of multivariable systems. (English) Zbl 0746.93044 Adv. Model. Simul. 25, No. 4, 37-48 (1991). Summary: This paper describes a self-tuning decoupling control algorithm for deterministic linear time-invariant MIMO systems. The achieved design objectives include (i) complete input-output decoupling in both dynamic and static state (ii) pole-placement to reduce the undershoot caused by the unstable zeros and (iii) avoiding cancellations of unstable poles and zeros between the controller and the process. The matrix factorization needed by usual decoupling algorithms is avoided here. Two simulated examples demonstrate the effectiveness of the algorithm.
