The authors consider interpolation of function spaces using a functional parameter. In this fashion they extend results of Kalugina and J. Gustavsson [Math. Scand. 42, 289-305 (1978; Zbl 0389.46024)] and G. Sparr, Ann. Mat. Pura Appl., IV. Ser. 99, 247-316 (1974; Zbl 0282.46022)].
