It is explained how space-group representations fall into strata of inequivalent representations which can be interrelated by parameter variation. Generation of space-group representations from representation domains can lead to inclusion of more than one parameter variant of each stratum. No errors are caused by this but the compilations of character (and especially Kronecker product) tables are significantly lengthened beyond the bare minimum necessary for completeness. Additional parameter variants occur when points which are special in a holosymmetric space group but not in a non-holosymmetric subgroup have been included.
