Authors’ abstract: This paper gives asymptotic properties of a population system with regard to an ideal population state on the basis of a time- continuous and age-discrete population evolution model given by D. Feng and the third author in J. Math. Res. Expo. 1983, No.3, 1-6 (1983; Zbl 0522.92013), and then proceeds to give the geometric properties of the attainable set of this system about the ideal state for any fertile initial state. Finally, its time optimal control on the ideal state is discussed.
