The author discusses collective phenomena appearing in the evolution of many particle systems. He establishes the well known results like the hydrodynamical equations, the formation and propagation of shock waves, the existence of metastable states and their transition to equilibrium. Moreover the local equilibrium hypotheses is considered and its consequences are discussed. The fluctuation-dissipation theorem is included in this paper.
