Elastic buckling of plates using the boundary element method. (English) Zbl 0594.73081

Summary: An integral formulation using the boundary element method is developed for the buckling analysis of plates, for various in-plane loading and boundary conditions. The formulation is implemented using boundary elements and a number of numerical examples are studied. Results are then compared with analytical or numerical solutions previously obtained by other methods, to illustrate the accuracy and applicability of boundary elements for buckling analysis.
